I love this work!

Hollllaaaa mi familia y amigos!!!! Buenos Tardes!!

It is nice to be here writing an email to you! So many things happen each week that it makes writing these emails a little hard because there simply isn't enough time to tell you about all the amazing things that are going on but even then I am so happy that I get email!

First off, there isnt much snow so I havent been freezing and I am pretty warm with just a coat on. So dont worry I am safe and I am just really taken care of here. It is funny because I remeber when driving I would honk and wave to the missionaries and now people are doing that to me! Its a little crazy, because I can't believe I am already here. We are treated so well here and I really feel your love, support and prayers. So dont worry Mom I am doing great!!! I know I keep saying that, but it is so true. Thanks for your letters and love to me!

Okay so update from last saturday......Elder Holland came to our devotional on Sunday with his family and it was SO amazing and the spirit was so strong and I cant believe I..I got to be there! He mainly just introduced his son, who was the speaker and it was really neat because we were able to see another side of him. President Holland gave this wonderful talk on Joseph Smith and the choir sang Praise to
In the MTC choir singing to Elder Holland and Family

the Man and there were special music performances during his talk and the spirit was SO strong. I am so honored that I got to be apart of something so wonderful and to sing a song with so much power. During some parts of the song I couldn't even sing and was just mouthing the words because the spirit hit me. At the end of the talk we all stood up for Elder Holland and his family and he blew a kiss to all of us missionaries and it was so special especially because my companera y yo were in the FRONT ROW of the choir. I am so grateful to have been apart of that. After I got to see Elsie one last time and we were able to talk for a while, I love her and I know the people of Georgia are so lucky to get her!
And speaking of seeing people I know...............I got to see Karch or ELDER ARGYLE TODAY!
(sorry yes fast forward to today!) Today is P-day and after we went to the Provo temple our district wanted to stop at the main campus bookstore and on our way there I got to see my best friend!!!! AHHHHHHH!!  It was SO awesome! We had to hurry but I was able to get a picture so hopefully I can upload it to you guys today!

Hermana Guerrero and Elder Argyle in the Provo MTC

Thank you to everyone who sent me pictures of Karchers farewell and who really made me feel apart of that special day! I am so happy for him and I know without a doubt that he is going to be an amazing missionary!! Such a sweet blessing of the Lord and I am so grateful! And we may possibly see each other tomorrow at this sundays devotional! So cool!! I am so happy the Lord has allowed me to see so many dear people in my life! My heart is full!! I also saw Brittany knudsens sister (sorry i spelled that wrong) and so yeah so many great people serving the Lord.

Today my dear companera and I are teaching a new investigator named Francisco today and we got another investigator ealier this week named Julio! We are really trying and spanish is coming along slowly but surely. I love Spanish it seriously is so beautiful and just comes out so.....I dont know I can see why it is called the language of love. Or at least I think it is!
Hermana Guerrero and Hermana Bailey

Hermana Bailey is so sweet and we are so patient and caring towards one another that we really get along so so well. I love her and I am already sad at the thought of leaving her.We leave in just a couple of weeks!!! Crazy! Oh yeah we went to Salt Lake on Thursday for our visas and so lets hope it all just works out!! They say it should! I have been reading the Book of Mormon in espanol everyday and Jesus the Christ. Just really learning a lot and I am just very amazed with this work and the love God has for all of us. Yesterday Hermana Bailey and I taught about the Plan of Salavation and its so true. We are children of a LOVING Heavenly Father and we all have a divine purpose and he wants us to be happy, to learn and grow and to come back to Him and be eternally happy. I have a testimony is Gods love for me and I am so thankful to be an instrument in his hands right now. Theres nothing else I would rather be doing! I miss you all so so so much but this work is so important and people deserve to know that there is a God who loves them and that we have a Savior, Jesus Christ, who atoned for our sins and has made it possible for us to return to live with God again. Christ made this plan of Salvation and Happiness possible and we can turn to him for ANYTHING! If your having a hard time with something, go to HIM, because he knows EXACTLY how you feel. I love that, and I love you all and hope you all know that.

I couldnt be happier being here and serving the Lord. Time is weird when yoyu are on a mission. It goes by so fast but there's still so much left ahead and I am very happy about that. We are teaching Fransisco tonight so please pray for us! My teachers are amazing and I know Hevaenly Father gave me my companion, my district, my teachers, and the presidency all for a reason.
Traveling on the shuttle bus to MTC from dorm

I LOVE THIS WORK! it is extremely hard but it is so worth it. Sorry if my English isn't that great! It's hard typing in English and thinking about it when you are constantly trying to learn spanish from 6am-10pm! I love you all and sorry to cut it early but I want to get some pictures to you guys! Thanks for doing the blog! I love you all so much!!!! MY HEART IS FULL!!!! Luke 1:37 (keeps me going when the language gets hard) Anything is possible with the Lord on our side!
love you all! :) :) :)

Lovin the MTC

Hello FAMILIA Y AMIGOS!!!

My this week has been crazy! So much I don't even know where to start! Well first off, let me let you all know that I am safe and healthy and just feeling really good! I am always tired but I think that's just what happens when you are a missionary!! I love you all and feel your love! I just got some mail today but I am waiting to open it because I want to email you guys but THANK YOU!!!!! it warms my heart so so so much! I cannot even describe it but please know i am so so so thankful :) And I will be responding soon! My companera and yo planned out a whole hour to write to our friends and family so yeah i am excited!
Okay so this week was pretty intnense! We did a lot of teaching with Felipe and it was hard but great just because our teachers kept telling us that if we had the spirit everything would be okay! And Felipe was so patient with us and seemed to understand the things we said but it was still hard because I just felt like it was all going so slow, we were on our fourth meeting with him and we still hadnt even mentioned the BOM, but then when we got our lesson and were just telling him about Joseph Smith and the BOM I felt the spirit so strong and was able to testify of the truthfullness of the gospel IN SPANISH. It wasnt the best but it was real and I then knew that the Lord will handle the rest as long as I tried to learn and studied and kept myself spiritually uplifted. Man, just talking about that moment gives me the chills but it was awesome, and in all honesty it wasnt me it was the Lord. But now a plot twist for you........So we were teaching Felipe and we thought that was probably going to be our last time teaching him because he said he was "leaving" to California so we ( my district) were bummed but then he (FELIPE) walked into our class yesterday and was like "hey I am your new teacher!" What?!? We were all freaking out hahah but it is so awesome! So I have another language teacher and we start teaching two new investigators on Monday!!!

Seriously the entire day is just full on studying! There's personal study, companionship study,  language study, and language classes with our teachings! There's never a moment where we are not doing something. We are doing the Lords work and we need all the time we can get! Sometimes it is hard just because I think a nap would be SOOO nice but then I think about how valuable this work is and how I dont even want to waste a minute! Sorry if my English is so bad, I find myself typing words up in espanol! haha But the spirit here is amazing and I am learning so much! My district is the best! we have a lot of good laughs and are all really there for each other. I really do feel like we all are a family, we do everything together and I love it! I will be sending some pictures soon! Sorry this email is so short! Just trying to make sure I can respond to you! My companera y yo are just really loving this work and loving the fact that we get to do this together! We get along so well and all of the hermanas in my district have a place in my heart! We all come from different backgrounds but they are my sisters and I love them so much! All the hermanas in my district are going to Pachuca tambien!

I love this work so much and seriously wouldn't want to be doing anything else! Oh yeah almost forgot the COOLEST thing ever!!!! so tomorrow! yeah tomorrow we have devotional and mi companera y yo are in the choir and so we have been practicing praise to the man and called to serve and last week our choir director was telling us that he went and heard elder Hollands son speak at i think at UVU or something and anyway it was about Joeseph Smith and he loved it so much that he asked him to speak for us missionaries and he said YES! But here's the cool part it's HIS MOMS (Sister Hollands) birthday and so he asked if he could bring his Mom and possibly SOME OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS (HINT HINT Elder Holland!) ummm WHAT?! all of us missionaries are freaking out! We dont know if they are all coming but it was implied and we are ALL ao excited for Sunday! I will let you guys know next week! Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays are my favorite! I love you all SOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!! Oh and I got to see Elsie last Tuesday at devotional it was so awesome! We took a picture! So happy I got to see her and Karch comes this week so hopefully I will see you tooo!! so awesome that we are all serving missions! Love this work and LOVE YOU ALL!!!
ps THANKS FOR THE DEAR ELDER LETTERS AND PACKAGES AGAIN<3

Love, Hermana Guerrrero

God Loves us and we are His Children

Before going to Mexico, Sophia will be at the Missionary Training Center in Provo Utah for 6 weeks.  There she will be training to be a missionary and also learning to teach the gospel in the Spanish language.  The following is her first letter since entering the MTC

Feb 8, 2014
HOLLLLAAAAAA FAMILIA Y FRIENDDDDSSSS!!!! Gosh just opening up these emails and being able to email you guys makes me cry!!  I only have an hour but I am going to try to say as much as I can!
First off, let me say, I LOVE YOU ALL SOOOOO MUCH!!! And I truthfully feel your prayers and love! haha all the missionaries are all like, ' awwww Hermana, Hermana!" because I am just full of love and I am crying! haha so many emotions! But I am not crying because I am sad, the MTC iss so awesome! Just feeling a lot! I am actually staying at the MTC west! which...believe it or not is exactly where I stayed at for BYU!!!!!!! CRAZY! Not in the same dorm but I am close! So hopefully I see  my roommate sometime :)  Its like the Lord was preparing me all along! Mi companera is muy muy muy nice and fun! We are so alike its amazing!!! We are totally there for each other when we need it and I am just really thankful for her! haha and Karch youre going to like this... shes a Red Sox fan!! ayyeeee!! but I mean I have learned to love you Red Soxs so I know we will be fine! haha :)
Spanish is coming along pretty well however, Hermana Bailey (mi companera) y yo taught an "investigator" Felipe yesterday and we kind of struggled..a lot! but we know we can only get better from here. They keep telling us to just make sure we have the spirit, and we are all trying but its just a little frustrating because even though we feel the spirit we cant communicate! But we will get it! I just know it!!
Our district and teachers here are just so amazing! Everybody just wants to do good and we all help each other out! We have had a lot of tears and laughs together and its nice that all of us are speaking Spanish and just trying to do the same thing! The spirit is SO strong here its just incredible! I am just learning so much! It is amazing but exhausting, I don't think I have ever been so tired in my entire life and this is just the beginning but guess what? I don't mind it! Its all worth it! Working hard to make sure people can receive real happiness and just come to know of the Love God and Jesus Christ have for them is worth it! Today our district went to the Provo temple today and it was beautiful, I was sitting there trying to find scriptures for Felipe but I kept finding scriptures for me, and the Lord just kept telling me to have faith and that I can do this and that the language WILL come! He is there for me and I am so thankful for that, I may lose in myself but HE never does!! God loves us and we are his children, we can talk to him about anything, and I have realized that even though I am on a mission he wants me to talk to him about EVERYTHING! So please know that I love you and the Lord loves you also :)
oh yes! the dear elder is working so for anybody who has time, please write me on there! I would love to hear from you! You all mean the world.
I wish I had more time to write but I dont, and to all the missionaries who ever wrote me on your mission...THANK YOU! i did not realize that theres almost no extra time to even write letters!
I love this work and this gospel so much! Its challenging but I know I can do this! I love the work and its so fulfilling and selfless. I had scriptures to share but I left that in my journal! sorry this is my first time but next weeks letter will be much more structured! Mi companera y yo are teaching Felipe again today en espanol so I will let you know hwo that goes! Felipe goes to BYU but hes not a member. Hes an international student and he doesnt really know if he believes in God however he does want to pray to Him to see if he is really there so we are hoping to help him even more today! So that should be good :)
But please dont worry too much about me! They treat us so well here and its a little cold but you all have helped me a lot to stay comfortable, warm, and safe here!
To Sandy, Sherida, Sherrie, and Lisa! THANK YOU for your dear elder letters! I will respond I promise  :)  Fabrice and Mom I love YOU!!
Okay well I really got to do now but thanks for helping me get here!
I love you!
