HOLA FAMILIA Y AMIGOS :)
Sorry I haven’t written in a very long while. It’s
not that I don’t want to but sometimes I just am not given enough time.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and
New Years. There are so many (funny/ cool) traditions here in Mexico I love it! I love the
people and loved that I was able to really feel and see the true meaning of
Christmas. Lots of people have asked me what we did on Christmas day and well,
I only really need one word to describe my day. Work! We worked a ton and it truly was so beautiful.
We contacted people in the streets and sang to them, and I loved it! Also I got to talk to my family :) what a
blessing! So thankful for families! I love you all so much!
Now for new years, I have a pretty interesting
story. Well, first let me start by telling you that here as well they make
goals and so, my companion and I were wondering what will be our goals and
we decided that we were going to start off the New Year working so hard. Lots of lessons and contacts in the roads just
inviting people to be baptized and just really doing all we can. We were
excited! But New Years Eve I started to
feel really sick. I got a huge headache and fever and just was not feeling
well. It started when I was on divisions with a Sister in our Zone but the next
day (New Years Eve) was terrible. But we worked and I just said tomorrow had
got to be better. But on the first new day of the year I woke up
with....CHICKEN POX! Yep! All over my
face my arms and back! Thank goodness
not a ton on my legs but, wow they were huge! I thought chicken pox were red
dots but NO they are huge dots filled with water the first day all over your
body. I first thought maybe a spider bit me but my companion was saying no, you
have chicken pox but in Spanish so of course I had no idea what it was and then
we looked in the dictionary and I thought..”oh no, here I am almost 20 and I
finally have gotten chicken pox...awhhhh!!!” But, on the mission? That means I
can’t work! I called our President’s wife who’s a nurse and explained the
situation and she put me and my companion on house arrest! Ha ha ha! The first day I just kept laughing so hard
because we had such a desire to work hard and start the New Year right and here
I was in the bed with chicken pox! The itches came strong but I have been
trying to be a lot more like Jesus Christ and have self discipline...I can do
hard things( como dice Hermana Rowley) but the good thing is the pox have been
drying up quickly. I don’t know if Hermana Tuz and I will be Sister Training Leaders
because we just can’t see the Sister’s this way, but I know all will be okay.
Hermana Tuz has been putting on the cream for me and let’s just say that we
have much confidence together. Haha! But the 48 pox I have are nothing I have
78373740385983058 BLESSINGS and I am glad for this experience. It’s super
funny!
I am thankful to start a new year and for the
past year that I was able to have. This time a year ago I was in my house
preparing to serve and now I am here! I am so thankful for all who have helped
me. I love you al!
So, count your blessings not your “Spiritual
Chicken Pox” dots because there are so many more blessings than trials I
promise you! I love you all! Have a
Happy New Year! :)
Con Mucho Amor
Hermana Guerrero
