It's a privilege!

Dear Family and Friends:                                                 September 15, 2014

I am so happy to be writing to you again.  I can’t believe how fast a week goes by!  It seems like just yesterday.  Even though I have been out for several months now, I still feel pretty new to the mission.  I am enjoying every day but the time does go by so fast!
I love my mission with all my heart!

This week was good.  We had exchanges and I was able to work with Hermana Tellez and I learned a lot from her. In our area Hermana Cuc and I have been falling short of meeting our goal for teaching lessons.  But we prayed and we ended up teaching 12 lessons in one day. We talked about our companionship and I’m sure I will be working much harder with Hermana Cuc with the help of my Heavenly Father.  I am so happy that we were able to meet our goal.

We also saw a miracle this week.  We met a lady who we feel is the most prepared person we have met!  Her name is Guillermina and before we met her, she was attending another ward with her boyfriend when we received the referral from the ward and we visited her this week.  During the first lesson we talked about baptism and then we invited her to follow Jesus Christ and she said “yes, yes, yes!” She said that was her desire, but that she needed to marry her boyfriend.  He is an less-active member of the church and they live together, and they’re attending his brother’s ward. He is encouraging her and aware they need to be married.  We talked to our ward and they are helping us to get them married this week!

Also, we have a baptism of Yael’s mother, her name is Maira and she is very excited! She has good friends in the ward, and we gave lessons at some of the members homes so that she could get to know them.  Also, Brother Yael bore his testimony at Sacrament Meeting and some of his friends had come to the meeting with him.  He spoke of how happy he is being at church and that he wants to prepare himself to serve a mission. He is only 12 years old but it touched my heart to hear him say that.

To serve a mission is something I wanted to do but I felt it would be a great sacrifice.  But, now I don’t’ feel it is a sacrifice at all but a privilege!  I believe it is a privilege for everyone!  What a great blessing it is to be here and to learn and change so much!  I’m not the same person I was before my mission.  I feel I am being perfected in Christ.  I invite everyone, my self included to come unto him and we will all be happy!  I still have much work to do and I know it will take a lifetime! My goal is to continue to focus on my Savior and I know I will see miracles!

My greatest wish is to never leave my mission and just do the work everyday.  That is what is most important and what brings the most happiness in this life.  Each day I can leave the natural man and become a better person a better daughter and a better missionary.

It's Mexican Independence Day!

I am so grateful for the love and guidance of  my Mission President and his wife, President and Sister Egbert.  They have changed my life for the better.  I know that my Heavenly Father loves me because he sent me to this mission!

I hope and pray you all have a wonderful week!

Love, Hermana Guerrero
